Against Interpretation by Susan Sontag : Tanias text
Given Sontag’s reputation it was not with out a significant degree of trepidation that I began to read “Against Interpretation” but found it clear, enjoyable to read (even entertaining but I seemed largely alone on this one) & thought provoking. Following it’s directive I am loathe to over analyse it as following it publication interpretation, it could be argued, has become “the intellect’s revenge upon art.”
